Inside the Dealroom: why only signed deals count

A closed room, a committee, accredited investors, and one rule that keeps everyone honest: an introduction is not a deal.

1 November 2026 · 4 min read

The Dealroom is held on Day 1, behind closed doors. Clubs, leagues, events, venues, media and technology companies raising capital apply with one paragraph. A committee selects the situations it can stand behind. Investors are accredited by their thesis in sport.

Why the room is closed

Nothing said in the room is published. People speak plainly when they know it stays in the room.

Why only signed deals count

An introduction is not a deal, and a handshake is not a signature. The Forum counts an agreement only when it is signed during the four days and confirmed in writing by both parties within thirty days, and only with their consent. That number is published after each edition. Everything else stays private.

How to take part

Ventures apply and investors ask for accreditation on the Dealroom page. Applying does not guarantee selection or accreditation, and no confidential document is collected through the site.
